What Happened?

On September 11th 2001 four terrorist attacks took place in America. The attacks were committed by a group known as "Al-Qaeda". Hijackers boarded various planes on the East Coast that were headed for the West Coast, and took over control of the aircrafts. The first plane was crashed into the northern tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, and shortly after a second plane crashed into the southern tower of the World Trade Center, confirming that the America was under attack. Shortly after the third place crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia. The fourth plane was crashed into the country side in Pennsylvania after the passengers on the flight learned of the hijacking taking place and over took the hijackers.
The Aftermath
The attacks killed all of the passengers on the four planes, over 2,500 people in and around the World Trade Center, 125 people at the Pentagon. Resulting in about 3,000 deaths total as well as leaving another 6,000 injured. Police officers, and hundreds of firefighters were among those killed. Over half of the New York City fire department was sent to the World Trade Center following the attacks. It took until May 2002 to complete the clean-up at the World Trade Center. In addition to those who died in the attacks several more people died as a result of the toxic dust from the attack, and almost 20,000 people have developed various illnesses as a result of the toxic dust.
